Raynov (Райнов) Bogomil (1919—2007)

Bogomil Raynov was Bulgaria's fiction writer and poet. Raynov was born on June 19 1919 in the capital city of Sofia. He graduated from Sofia University in the subject of Philosophy in 1943.
Raynov served as an editor in several cultural and literary magazines. Between 1953 and i960, Raynov served in the Eulgarian Embassy in Paris, and since 1961 he has been a professor of aesthetics at the Academy of Pine Arts in Sofia. He has occupied a number of high administrative posts within the BWU system. Among author's best works are "Love Calendar", "Steps in the Sand", "Rainy Evening" and many others.

Bogomil Raynov used to be very well positioned during the Commnist era, in fact he was close friend of Lyudmila Zhivkova, the daughter of dictator Todor Zhivkov. Older generations remember that when Bogomil was young, he publicly renounced his father, writer Nikolay Raynov, in order to boost his career.
