Debelle Alexandre
(1805—1897)
French painter. Having worked in Paris in the workshop of Wholesale trade, he came back to Grenoble where he was named conservative of des Beaux arts. His home town, Voreppe, owes him the complete decoration of the Church St Didier. His father, the " Captain in the wooden leg ", defended Voreppe against the Austrians in 1814.
