Bonaparte Pauline
(1780—1825)
Of all his siblings, Pauline was the most liked by Napoleon Bonaparte. The pair had a special bond that allowed the emperor to overlook his sister's wild ways and extravagant lifestyle. Her first marriage, in 1797, was a happy one with General Victor Leclerc who, unfortunately, died from fever in 1802. The second, less successful one, was to Prince Borghese but, being related to the ruler of France, Pauline spent most of her time in Paris. Her loyalty to Napoleon was limitless and she was the only one of his relatives to visit during his exile on Elba.
