Able-bodied seaman on the Bounty; loyalist; went with Bligh; arrived safly in England. Tinkler was born at Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, in 1770, so he was seventeen years old when he joined the Bounty. He was the youngest brother-in-law of the sailing master, John Fryer.
