Castelo Branco Ferreira Botelho
(1825—1890)
Camilo Castelo Branco was a Portuguese writer born in Lisbon, he is creditted with 100 volumes of poems and plays, but is best known for his 58 novels. He was orphaned as a child and brought up by relatives.In 1885 in recognition of his work he was given the title viscount of Correia-Botelho, his health soon failed, and he became blind, then committed suicide in 1890.
