Guillermo Prieto was a poet, dramatist, and liberal politician. He holds numerous government positions and is a staunch supporter of the Reform Movement. Prieto was an illustrious writer, who saved the life of Benito Juárez on March 14, 1858, when he faced the rebels and cried, "Halt! Brave people don't carry out assassinations".
