Gricius Augustinas
(1899—1972)
Lithuanian prosiest and dramaturge, studied at the school of the "National Theatre" in 1921 - 1923, worked in the Satiric Theatre "Vilkolakis", was Head of the Journalists' Union in 1939 - 1940, worked in the Drama Theatres in Vilnius and Kaunas in 1946 - 1949. His first works were published in 1913. The most important work of Gricius is the drama Hot Summer. His comedies were staged at the National Theatre in Kaunas and at the Academic Theatre. In his satires and comedies Gricius scoffed at petty bourgeoisie, careerists, bureaucrats and spongers.
