Sterija Popović Jovan
(1806—1856)

Jovan Sterija Popović was one of the most famous dramatists to emerge from the Balkans in the 19th century. He was a famous playwright, dramatist, comediographer, and pedagogue. He is considered by many to be the Father of Serbian Drama.
