Permitin (Ïåðìèòèí) Efim Nikolayevich
(1896—1971)
Soviet writer, public figure, a member of the Union of writers of the USSR, Winner of the State premium of RSFSR after A.M. Gorky, the author of novels «Mountain Eagles», «Alexey Rokotov's Life», «Spring streams», etc.
Permitin deserves the pecial attention of fellow countrymen:
He is the first of writers of the Eastern Kazakhstan who in prose represented the Eastern Kazakhstan in the greater Soviet literature. Owing to his books: "Friends", «Alexey Rokotov's Life», «Mountain eagles» about our city, krai, people started to talk about him far outside of Kazakhstan.
Permitin in 1923 hardly probable for the first time in the Soviet country organized in remote Ust-Kamenogorsk that time the literary and art magazine «Hunter of Altai», become Siberian, and then Russian edition and it was existed for 14 years.
Permitin was the first in the Soviet literature who wrote about the socialist transformation of village.
And, the most important fact is that in spite of his moving from our city in 1925 to Novosibirsk, and in 1931 to Moscow, the theme of our krai was the leader one in his works, and the novel «Alexey Rokotov's Life» became really the art chronicle of our city.
Permitin’s novels were widely known in 30, 50th years, they were many times republished. Critics wrote about him as of big expert on life of the Altai village.
On February 14, 1966 Permitin was rewarded with the order of the Labour Red Banner. In 1970 for the novel-epopee «Alexey Rokotov's Life» was rewarded with the State Premium of RSFSR after A.M. Gorky.
In 1978-1980 in publishing house "Fiction" collected works of the writer were published.
Permitin performed the great public work in the Union of writers of RSFSR: was the secretary of Board of the Union of writers of the Russian Federation, worked in editorial soviet publishing houses «Soviet writer», «Moscow worker», «Soviet Russia», in weekly journal «Literary Russia», magazine «Hunting and hunting facilities», etc.
