Costin Miron  (1633—1691)

Historiography was at its height with the humanist historiographers of 17th-century Moldavia, whose leader was Miron Costin. He wrote a chronicle of Moldavia in Romanian and a poem on the history of his country in Polish. Costin Miron was educated at humanist schools in Poland. He was one of the most important personality of the 17th century. He was an evoluated story-teller, he narrated the facts relying on the contemporaries' confessious and he was often implicated in the events — his chronicle was at a great extent, a memoratistic work.
