Fouchet Max-Pol
(1913—1980)
French poet, editor of Fontaine, a Resistance review in World War II. He was a humanist and friend of Camus and Mounier. His poetry, collected in Demeure le secret (1961), expresses a lyrical belief in the future of mankind. His interest in peoples and their civilizations led him to write on Portugal, Carthage, India, and Africa.
