Annette Langen introduces herself

I was born in 1967 and consider myself very lucky to be brought up in a booksellers’ family amongst a huge numbers of books. As a child I travelled with my parents to many countries, and by the time I was a young girl I had pen pals from all over the world, some of whom I spent my vacations with. My passion for travelling never ceased, and thus my memories and experiences of different cultures influenced my imagination as an author, making their way into Felix’ adventures. Books have always fascinated me. I am a trained bookseller; and for many years I worked as an editor for children’s books while concurrently writing my own children’s books. My two children Isabel-Marie and Benjamin, who were born in 1996 and 1998 respectively, do have quite an impact on my new books. It is thus not surprising that many of my own childrens books are ‘family tested’, such as ‘Die Kleine Motzkuh’. My first book was published in 1989 – since then I have written around 60 books, published a couple of anthologies, and have also translated some English children’s books into German.
