Grzegorz Piramowicz joined the Jesuits and became professor of philosophy at the Jesuit college in Lwow (now L'viv). After the Suppression, he was named as one of the first members and secretary of the National Education Commission, which began in 1773, the first board of its kind in Europe, to organize and oversee education in the country. He later returned to priestly work in the parishes. The text opposite Piramowicz reads: Let us so that we may give our national education its council and strength. He wrote some books for children.
