Wall Dorothy
(1894—1942)
«Blinky Bill, the quaint little Australian»
Dorothy Wall was born in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1894 and came to Australia in 1914. Her reputation as an illustrator of children's books was established early, especially after her work for J.J. Hall's The Crystal Bowl. She continued to illustrate the stories of other authors during her own successful career as a writer of children's fiction. Her literary reputation depends mainly on her series of stories about an engaging koala, Blinky Bill.
